CJC&A is the geotechnical consultant to the Capitals Program Department of the New York City Transit Authority and MTA-Bus Company. In support of the $29B Capital Program, CJC&A performs and reviews the design of foundations and excavation systems, develops site investigation and construction monitoring programs, generates confirmatory and design calculations, and other services as needed. The CJC&A staff has supported NYCT for many years and advised on most major projects.

With the significant damage to the infrastructure of New York City caused by Hurricane Sandy, the MTA-New York City Transit initiated projects to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities to their major subway yards, stations and depots. Given the rapid initiation and number of proposed projects, along with the various proposed solutions by outside contractors to NYCT, CJC&A was used by NYCT to provide review and design support to select and vet the most efficient and cost effective solutions.

From time to time CJC&A will take on specialty projects. This rooftop tennis court provided the challenge of being heavy and rigid to avoid vibrations during play, and the support system had to allow for open living below (limited columns) to achieve the architectural goals of this luxury home in Watermill, NY.
